Mike didn't know what to say to her, telling her about the SCI might just get her killed. He is as confused and doesn't even know how her father knew that doctor. He was beginning to suspect his father in law. Is he the head of the operations? He really needs to have a talk with the man one of these days, maybe if they talked man to man... He might be able to find something fishy or??.... "MIKE!!" Emeade yelled seeing him lost in thoughts.
"Mike! answer me please how can you just zone out like that when am talking?" Emeade was begining to get more suspicious and angry.
"Babe ,calm down. You know i won't hide anything from you right? The maid only told me her name when i met her outside the compound the day she started working here, and even i think she's very educated and I concluded that she might be educated and needs money and you know how country is right? She may have searched and searched for jobs and am sure she's well paid by your father since he won't let us pay her, i wonder who gifts a maid as a wedding present. Told you your father is weird. " he stated convincly and they both started laughing.
" Mr husband am warning you ooo, don't call my father weird. " She said amidst laughter.
"And the doctor might've known who you are because dad might have told him ..this all make sense now. Am sorry i doubted you, everything was not making sense then" she apologized to him kissing him deeply.
" It's fine baby, i got a call from work tho,I'm needed tomorrow at work" he decided to use this opportunity to tell her.
"Work?" Emeade was surprised. "But honey you're on leave! How can they suddenly call you like that? You won't go oo". Emeade said pouting and folding her hands across her chest stubbornly.
" Please understand, i won't be gone for long, just some hours and i will be home." He tried his best to reason with her.
Emeade sighed. " If you want to go... fine then just know am not happy about it" She stood up from the bed and walk out from the room. Mike could not leave his wife for any task, she has been vomiting non-stop since morning, the doctor had later called that she's 2 weeks pregnant and that sorta triggered the whole thing. He even suspected she was faking it at first it because she doesn't want him to go out but when she kept vomiting everything she ate,he knew that it was no pretense.
"Honey what about your work?" she asked as she came out from the toilet where she had gone to vomit, this must be the 7th time that after noon.
"I can't leave you like this dear, i will go tomorrow early morning." he said as he held her.

"Sweetheart i will be leaving now." he kissed his wife awake.
"Now? But its only 5am,why don't u wait till its 7 or 8?" She asked feeling sleepily.
"I need to get there on time. I've asked Lisa to make you breakfast and also bring you a bowl up here so you don't have to keep walking to the bathroom every now and then in case you need to throw up. Take care yourself while am gone." he kissed her.
On getting to his car, he opened the envelope to read the contents. The man he was supposed to take something from is a very popular reporter. His house address was written at the back of the picture, "damn what or on whose foot he has stepped on" mike wondered. He booked a hotel room close to the reporter's house and changed into his SCI suit, covered his face with a mask and sneak out the room. He knew better than to check out from the front desk, in case they began investigating, he won't be a suspect though he didn't book the room in his real name, he can’t risk exposing the SCI. He got to the reporters house, to his luck the reporter lived at the second building, he searched for the electric box and switched off the light, then he put on his mask light so he can see everything around him though its dark, few minutes later he located the reporter's room, entered from the window and the card reader was lying on a reading table, he took it and jumped out the window, his next move was to take the card reader back to the hotel and check what's in it. Maybe he could find a clue as to who or whom he was working for and end things once and for all. He had purposely brought his laptop with him for this purpose.
Halfway to the hotel and his phone vibrated, it was a private line calling "Put the card reader in the envelope with you, there is a car coming your way. Give the envelope to the driver. Find the reporter and finish him off" It was a different voice that came on this time. " What?!" Mike was shocked. My job was to retrieve the card-reader which I've done. I can't kill any one! When did the government start killing because I'm sure this guy isn't a terrorist!" Mike yelled back at the voice. A car stopped in front of him and someone

car speed off. Thankful to the street light he was able to memorize the plate
number "Are you saying no to the bosses order now?" The voice was
still in his head.
"You delayed the task and now this?" The person sounded really angry.
"I won't kill a man, i refuse to! Yes! We were trained for the worse at the school but how could I??" No! I refuse to start my day like this. He thought to himself and hanged up.

If his father in law was really connected to all this and is deep in the operations like him, unlike the maid who should be a level 3 or 4. He felt somehow at peace and also scared with this much SCI agents around, right now they won't harm his wife, and in fact they will protect her with their lives until they are given the command to do so. They won't harm her, he kept repeating to himself until a message came up on his phone......"YOU HAVE BEEN suspended. WATCH YOUR BACK AND THAT OF YOUR Wife's".

survivor ___________chapter 5
"Emaede! Emaede!! Emaede!!." Mike was yelling from the gate of thier compound. Oh! If anything should happen to her... He thought to himself almost out of breath and almost weeping.
He ran like a mad man upstairs to the room they shared, passing the maid who looked unsettled. Obviously awarded of what he has done.
"EMAEDE!!!" he yelled again as he entered the room.
"Mike. What's wrong? Why are you calling me that way??" Emaede asked scared that something might've happened. She had heard his voice but was too weak to answer. Pregnancy she guess.
Mike walked to her, turning her around and checking her body as if looking for an injury or gunshot wound. But all he noticed was that she was weak. She had been like that since yesterday right?
"You're fine!" He exclaimed. Oh God. He hugged her. "I thought I'd lost you." he whispered on her neck.
"I'm fine." She murmured back, wondering what was up with him but deciding to ask when he was calm. She called Lisa to bring him a cold drink and food because he obviously hadn't eaten.
After he finished eating, she looked at him quizzinly, waiting for him to start talking but all he did was gave her a puppy eye. No way! She thought rolling her eyes.
"Dear husband, you'd better start talking before I spank you like the baby that you are! That face won't work with me. At least not right now."
"What do you want me to say?"
"You can start by telling me why you're home by this time. Aren't you supposed to be at work?"
Mike looked away quickly before she could read his eyes and see the lies beneath his facial expression. He wasn't surprised he married a really smart woman and sometimes it doesn't always make him proud. It got him scared especially since he was living a double life.
"Mike?" she called quietly. "Mike are you okay? You've been distant this past few weeks. What's wrong?"
"I'm fine." he replied. "I only came early because... Because....."
"Because what?" she asked.

Now he was in tears because it hurts him so much to sit in front of the love of
his life and tell her lies.
Emeade not knowing the reason behind his tears thought that losing his job was why he was crying.
"It's okay baby. It's gonna be fine." she patted his back. "We'll find a way. Don't cry please." she consoled still confused.
"But why?" she asked. "Why did they fire you?"
"Because... There was a job that I was supposed to do since last two weeks which I didn't. Only to do it today and not finish it."
Emeade was hurt. This was all her faults. Maybe he didn't want to leave her that's why he didn't go. What a shame. I'll talk to dad. She concluded to herself in her mind as Mike wept his heart out. Out of guilt of course.
Later in the day, Emeade called her dad and invited him over for dinner. Hoping to convince him about giving her husband work. That's just a little of how much she loves Mike. Even if she has to crawl and beg her dad for a favour. She knew her dad was a hard and very strict man. But he wasn't always like this... Not until her mum. She was sure he does love her in his own way.
"What's going on?" Mike who had been sleeping asked as he found Emaede in the kitchen with Lisa preparing food that can serve ten people.
"Nothing dearie." Emaede walked to him giving a kiss and went back to what she was.
"Dad is coming over for dinner in less than an hour." she said over her shoulders. "I'm making sure everything is to his taste. You know na."she replied.
" Hmm". Was all he said as he watched the two women work magic with their hands.
Maybe it's best her dad was coming over, he'll have a man-to-man talk with him concerning the maid and the doctor. Maybe he'll agree to send the maid away or tell him what he knows about about the maid. Because as he is now... He knows the kind of hot soup he's in with the SCI.
Not the quite long, the door bell rang and Mike went himself to check who was at the door.

Mike turned to look at the man in shock!! This could only mean one thing.....
